A study on Feline infectious peritonitis in cats

1、 What is cat belly?

Feline infectious peritonitis is the abbreviation of cat infectious peritonitis, and FTP is a chronic and high mortality infectious disease of cat.

Feline infectious peritonitis  is a mutation of cat coronavirus, which is very common in the gathering place of cats. The most common transmission of the virus is saliva transmission and fecal transmission. Cats carrying virus will discharge the virus out of the body through feces. In the gathering place, cats can pass virus particles to healthy cats through sharing the cat sand basin or cat sand shovel. Meanwhile, when cats and cats play together, chasing and biting each other or sharing drinking basin will also lead to virus transmission through body fluids, which will lead to the infection of cats.

When the coronavirus mutates in the cat, leaves the gut and invades other organs, it will inflame the cat organs. If the owner fails to detect it in time, it will develop into Feline infectious peritonitis without treatment.

2、 What are the early symptoms of Feline infectious peritonitis?

The early symptoms of cat Feline infectious peritonitis are not particularly obvious, and the influence of other diseases will lead to misjudgment, so it is difficult to diagnose early. If you suspect that the cat has been infected with the cat, you must find an experienced specialist in the veterinary hospital for diagnosis in time. The early symptoms are as follows:

1. loss of appetite: if you are not interested in the food you like before, you can leave after a smell.

2. bad mental state: the spirit is depressed and likes to stay in the corner quietly.

3. continuous fever: touch the cat's head, and obviously feel the temperature rise and fever repeatedly

4. repeatedly dilute

5. abdomen becomes bigger: abdomen grows bigger day by day, and slowly looks like a balloon

6. weight loss: as symptoms become more and more obvious, the cat's weight gradually decreases

3、 The best treatment for cat abdominal transmission

Feline infectious peritonitis is the most difficult of the four cat diseases, with a mortality rate of 95%. The high death rate ofFeline infectious peritonitis is almost equal to the death penalty for the sick cat, which is a great blow to the host spirit.

But with the development of chemical medicine, the success of the new drug also brings good news to the sick cat. The team of Professor Pedersen at the University of California Davis published an article in a professional magazine, pointing out the safety and effectiveness of gs-441524, a nucleoside analogue, in the treatment of natural FIP cats. The results show that gs-441524 is a safe and effective method for FIP. The team treated 31 cats with cat abdominal disease, and finally 24 cats survived successfully, with a survival rate of 77.41%.

The optimal dose of FIP treatment was 4.0mg/kg subcutaneously every 24 hours, lasting for at least 12 weeks. The results showed that after 18-36 hours after gs-441524 treatment, the temperature of the patients decreased and gradually returned to normal, as shown in the following figure. The lymphocyte returned to normal within one week, and the white blood cells decreased to normal level within two weeks.

In conclusion, gs-441524 (1191237-69-0) is a safe and effective FIP treatment method and a good news for the cats.
